In the Scoresbysund Fjord, we are sheltered from strong northern wind. It is often even sunny and pleasant in September. Temperatures range from -5°C to + 10°C, but are expected to be between 0°C and 5°C. There shouldn’t be too much rough water, so you are not likely to experience seasickness here.

We are navigating on open waters, so solid, waterproof clothing and gloves are necessary. The apparent temperatures can be cold, especially when traveling with the zodiac. Sturdy, high, waterproof boots, a hat, scarf, sunglasses and sun cream are indispensable. The most efficient way to retain heat is to dress in thin layers.

We discover the fjords with a privately chartered expedition ship: the Freya. This Swedish ship was initially used for nature research and has now been completely converted and modernised for conducting expedition cruises.
